Technical Assessment of Pumping System Performance at the Qatar National Lagoon using ANSYS-CFX

At Flowpak, we conducted a technical assessment of the pumping system serving the Qatar National Lagoon by evaluating the water age distribution in the lagoon using ANSYS-CFX.

This analysis aimed to identify areas of high water age and determine the effectiveness of the pumping system.

To achieve this, we used ANSYS-CFX to perform a statistical analysis of the water age distribution in different parts of the lagoon. Our findings revealed that water age was highest in regions where water flow was recirculating, leading to long-term entrapment.

This analysis provides valuable insights into the performance of the pumping system and helps inform any necessary improvements to ensure optimal water flow and circulation in the Qatar National Lagoon.

ANSYS-CFX was a critical tool in allowing us to accurately evaluate the water age distribution and make informed conclusions about the pumping system’s performance.

Numerical Simulation of Water Flow in Education City CP5 and CP7 Reservoirs using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

Flowpak performed a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis of the Education City CP5 and CP7 water reservoirs to design a baffle wall to improve water flow and reduce water age.
